IndiGo Delhi-lmphal Flight Scare: An IndiGo aircraft flying to Imphal halted soon after takeoff at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Thursday since there was a technical hitch in the plane, the carrier said.
The flight with flight number 6E-2421 left on time but had to turn back due to mid-air snag as the pilots informed the authorities that something went wrong in the initial stages of the flight to the destination. IndiGo in its official statement said that the aircraft landed safely and all passengers and crew members were safe.

Travellers are re-routed into Other Flight
They had accommodated passengers in another aircraft and the airline apologized to its customers on the inconvenience. The statement continued, saying that it is trying to make sure every passenger arrives at his or her destination at the earliest possible time.

DGCA Keeping an eye on the situation
The incident has been notified to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), which is India civil aviation regulator. Authorities revealed that a thorough examination and post-action report must precede the plane returning into the airline.

This is another instance of technical hitch prompting a commercial flight to divert or land, a trend that created a lot of concern about fleet maintenance and air safety in a fast-growing aviation industry in India.
