Indian Team Announced for Under-19 World Cup, Shefali Verma Gets Command

The All India Women's Selection Committee has announced the squad for the upcoming Under-19 World Cup and bilateral T20I series against South Africa. The most important thing about this selection is that Indian women's team's opening batsman Shefali Verma has been given the command of the team. The first edition of the ICC Under-19 Women's World T20 Cup will be between 16 teams. This World Cup to be held in South Africa will be played between January 14-29. Team India has been placed in Group D.

Talking about the Indian team, it has been placed in Group D along with South Africa, UAE and Scotland. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six round, where both will be divided into two groups. The top 2 teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, which will be played at the JB Marks Oval on January 27. The final match will be played on the same ground on January 29.
