Indian team announced for series against Sri Lanka, Hardik Pandya will be the captain in T20 and Rohit Sharma in ODI

The Indian team has been announced for the series against Sri Lanka. All-rounder Hardik Pandya has been made the captain of the team in T20Is while Rohit Sharma will lead the team in One Day Internationals. This was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Tuesday night. This series of three T20 matches to be played at the home ground will start from January 3. Rohit Sharma will be the captain of the team in the ODI series starting from January 10.

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are also not in the T20 team and there are indications that keeping in mind the 2024 T20 World Cup, Virat, Rahul and Rohit might not even be selected in this format anymore. Young emerging players have been given a place in the T20 team. Suryakumar Yadav, who has surprised everyone with his explosive performance in recent times, has been made the vice-captain of the T20 team. Costly fast bowlers Shivam Mavi and Mukesh Kumar got a place in the Indian T20 team for the first time in IPL.
