Officials said on Friday that Vagshir, the sixth submarine under the P75 Scorpene project, will be launched on April 20 at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL). With its inclusion, the strength of the Navy will increase significantly. 40 percent of the equipment in it is India-made. Sea trials of Project 75's fifth submarine Vagir began in February 2022.
An official said that the Vagshir submarine would undergo 12 months of sea trials after its launch on April 20. After that, it will be inducted into the Navy. The internal technology of the Vagsheer submarine is given by French and Spanish companies while the construction is done in Indian style. This is the last submarine under Project 75 to enhance the Navy's combat capability. Earlier, INS Kalavari, INS Khanderi, INS Karanj, and INS Vela have joined the Navy under this project while INS Vagir is undergoing sea trials.

4. It has the ability to hold 18 torpedoes with the ability to easily mislead the enemy with low noise
5. Possesses up to six torpedoes that can be fired at the enemy at once

7. It can live underwater for 50 days
