New Delhi: Indian Hockey team beat Great Britain 3-1 in the men’s hockey Quarter Final at Tokyo Olympics. India, who last won Olympic medal in 1980 Moscow Olympics, When they became champions, reached Semi Final after a gap of 49 years and now will face 2018 World Champion Belgium. India will have to play brilliant hockey to get a place in the Final. Today Dilpreet, Gurjant and Hardik scored for India. Manpreet’s men played magical hockey to produce shining result. India team have never before beaten Great Britain on Artificial Turf.
The first goal came in the first quarter, Dilpreet who was standing alone inside the circle made no mistake and gave India 1-0 lead. The second goal came at the start of the 2nd quarter Gurjant Singh, twisted, turned and struck it into the nets. Sam Ward brought nervy 15 minutes for India in the match as he scored a goal from a penalty corner to end the third quarter. Hardik Singh produced a moment of brilliance as he scored in the final quarter to extend India's lead 3-1.
