Indian Embassy has issued the latest advisory in which it has asked all the students to leave Kyiv immediately. According to the latest report, Russia is bombing the residential areas of Ukraine and huge casualties of civilians and properties have been reported so far.
The government of India has started Operation Ganga under which it is helping students stranded in various parts of Ukraine to evacuate the strife-torn city to the bordering countries in Poland, Hungry, Romania and the Slovak Republic. The Air India flights have been put into service to bring these students back to India.
“All Indian nationals including students are advised to leave Kyiv urgently today. Preferably by available trains or through any other means available, the latest advisory from the India Embassy said.
It has also asked all the students to stay calm and don’t show aggressive behaviour at the railway station.
The advisory further said, "We sincerely request all Indian nationals/students to remain calm, peaceful and united. A large crowd can be expected at the railway stations, therefore, it is advised that all Indian students remain patient, composed and especially not to exhibit aggressive behaviour while at the railway station."
Yesterday on February 28, the Embassy had informed the student to head towards the railway station as the curfew was relaxed for people to move to their preferred location.
According to reports, more than 15000 students are stranded at several places and it is an arduous task to move them to safer locations.
