Indian economy may take 12 years to recover from COVID-19 damage: RBI
A report released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday suggested that the Indian economy is likely to take more than 12 years to recover from the damage of COVID-19.

While India is fighting a fierce battle with Covid-19, this virus has badly affected the country's economy.
In its report on 'Monetary and Finance for 2021-22', RBI said, "The pandemic is a watershed moment and the ongoing structural changes catalyzed by the pandemic could potentially change the growth trajectory in the medium term."
The government's continued emphasis on capital expenditure, promotion of digitization and increasing opportunities for new investments in sectors such as e-commerce, start-ups, renewables and supply chain logistics, has led to a slowdown in the informal and formal shutdown of the economy, the report said.
