New Delhi: Friday has brought great luck for Indian Contingent in Tokyo. India is assured of second medal in Tokyo Olympic games 2020. In women’s Boxing Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain beat former world Champion Chen Nien-chin of Chinese Taipei 4-1 in the quarterfinal of 69 kg. weight category, and assured a medal in Tokyo Olympics. Bronze medal is in her pocket by reaching in the Semifinals and now Lovlina will fight to reach in the Final.
India’s first medal in Tokyo 2020 was won by Mirabai Chanu in women’s weightlifting, she has won silver in 49 kg event.
Chen Nien-chin is the 2018 welterweight world champion. She had faced Lovlina thrice before and won on all three occasions. Earlier, Lovlina advanced to the quarters, defeating German veteran Nadine Apetz in a closely-fought last-16 stage bout. She was very confident in all her bouts.
