Indian Air Force's Garud Special Forces will participate in the Republic Day parade for the first time
The IL-38S D aircraft of the Indian Navy served the nation for 44 years. It was decommissioned on 17 January 2022. This aircraft was inducted into the Indian Navy in 1977. Throughout its service life, this aircraft continued to strongly support the army. The IL-38 was a long-range, all-weather aircraft with sufficient operating range.

For the first time in the Republic Day-2023 parade, the Garud Dal of the Indian Air Force will march on the duty path. Squadron Leader PS Jaitavat will lead the Garuda contingent and Squadron Leader Sindhu Reddy will be the Commander of the contingent. The Indian Navy's spy plane IL-38 has also been included in the Republic Day celebrations. Who has been given the opportunity to fly on duty for the first and last time on this auspicious occasion. India is all set to showcase the special forces and India-made missile power on the occasion.

Wing Commander Indranil Nandi told that this time 45 aircraft of the Indian Air Force will participate in the fly-past on Republic Day. Along with this, one helicopter from the Indian Navy and four helicopters from the Indian Army will also be inducted. Apart from this, there will be a total of 13 formations like Arrow, Abrest, Arrowhead, Diamond and others by aircraft like MiG-29, Rafale, Jaguar, Su-30 etc.
