India stands with Sri Lanka in crisis, given financial assistance of $ 3.8 billion

Protesters stormed the President's official residence in the heavily guarded Fort area of central Colombo on Saturday, demanding the resignation of President Rajapaksa in Sri Lanka. Rajapaksa then announced that he would resign. "We are aware of the many challenges Sri Lanka and its people are facing, and we stand with the people of Sri Lanka as they try to overcome this difficult period," Bagchi said.
On Saturday afternoon, protesters occupied the official residence of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. And Rajapaksa fled the Rashtrapati Bhavan. But on Sunday it was learned that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has not crossed the border of any country. Rather, he is in the sea and is monitoring the situation from the Navy Ship. He will tender his resignation on 13 July. Before the resignation, the PM had called an emergency meeting. Prime Minister Wickremesinghe has resigned from the post when the pressure increased after the people's occupation of Rashtrapati Bhavan. He gave this information on social media.
