India Slams Pakistan’s Airstrikes on Afghanistan, Calls Out Blame Game

India Slams Pakistan’s Airstrikes on Afghanistan: In a statement on Monday, the ministry of external affairs (MEA) denounced the airstrikes conducted by Pakistan recently over Afghanistan, which kill about 46 people, including women and children, in the Paktika province.
In response to a query raised by the media regarding the airstrikes on Afghan civilians, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "We have noted the media reports on airstrikes on Afghan civilians including women and children, in which several precious lives have been lost.”

“We unequivocally condemn any attack on innocent civilians. It is an old practice of Pakistan to blame its neighbours for its own internal failures. We have also noted the response of an Afghan spokesperson in this regard," MEA added.
The Pakistani airstrikes hit the Barmal district in Afghanistan's Paktika province on the night of 24 December, and around 46 people, including women and children, were reported dead. Further, Taliban government spokespersons say that six other persons, mostly children, sustained injuries in the raids. The airstrikes hit seven villages; Laman village got severely devastated, including the death of five members of a single family.

Tension increased at the borders, as one Pakistani paramilitary soldier was killed and seven others hospitalized by fire exchanged across the borders with Afghan forces after they protest against the deadly airstrikes of Pakistan, which threw more than hundreds of Afghans out.
Both countries' safety officials stated that sporadic fighting-with heavy weapons was taking place between bordering armies along the fence separating Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan and Khost province in Afghanistan.
