India Slams OIC Statement on Pakistan Standoff as ‘Absurd’, Calls Group ‘Misguided’ by Islamabad
"The OIC statement is ridiculous in refusing to recognise the matters of the Pahalgam terrorist attack and its cross-border connections," the MEA said.

India condemned the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation ( OIC ) for its statement on the horrific Pahalgam terror attack on Tuesday, calling it "absurd," and "politically motivated," the MEA ( Ministry of External Affairs) held out Pakistan for using this international group to pursue an anti-India agenda.
On Tuesday, the MEA issued a sharp comeback after the OIC Group in New York made a statement which put into doubt India's take about the April 22 attack which killed 26 civilians - mainly tourists - in Pahalgam in Kashmir.

“The OIC statement, issued at the behest of Pakistan, is absurd in refusing to recognise the facts of the Pahalgam terrorist attack and its cross-border linkages. This is yet another attempt by Pakistan, a country that has long engaged in cross-border terrorism, to manipulate and misguide the OIC Group to issue a self-serving statement. We reject the OIC’s interference in matters that are internal to India,” the statement read.
On Monday, the Organistion of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in New York issued a statement expressing "deep concern over the deteriorating security environment in South Asia."
In a statement published by a State owned news agency in Turkey, Anadolu Agency which has been a member of the OIC since it was formed, stated that India's "unsubstantiated allegations against the Islamic Republic of Pakistan" largely contributed to escalating tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad.
They further reiterated that India's accusations only risked aggravating an already high-tension situation against the OIC "principled position against, and condemnations of, terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, committed by whomsoever and wherever."

The group also rejected "all attempts to associate any country, race, religion, culture or nationality with terrorism."
Tension in the India-Pakistan relationship escalated after the Pahalgam attack on April 22, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, among them tourists.
Since the Pahalgam attack, India has undertaken significant counter-measures against Pakistan's support of cross-border terrorism.
India's position is that it is holding the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 in abeyance until Pakistan credibly and permanently abjures its support of cross-border terrorism and closes the integrated Attari Check Post.
