India lost by 4 runs, South Africa won the series 3-0

South Africa defeated Team India by 4 runs in a thrilling match in the third and last ODI match. India had a target of 288 runs to win the match, in response to which the team could only score 283 runs. India could not win a single match of the ODI series and Africa made a 3-0 clean sweep over India.

This is the first time after the year 2020 that Team India has faced a clean sweep in an ODI series of 3 or more matches. In 2020, New Zealand defeated India 3-0 at their home.

India lost the 7th wicket at 223 and the defeat was hovering over the team, but Deepak Chahar changed the picture of the match by scoring a brilliant 54 off 34 balls. Chahar was dismissed for 278 and after that Jasprit Bumrah (12) and Yuzvendra Chahal (2) were dismissed for runs and Team India almost won the match.
