India celebrated M Visvesvaraya’s 160th birthday: Engineer’s Day 2021
160th birth anniversary of Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya is celebrated today as he was born on 15th September 1861, in the Muddenhalli village of Karnataka.

On 15th September every year, India with Sri Lanka and Tanzania celebrated National Engineer's day to remember and honor the achievements of the great engineer Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. The day is celebrated as the great work of engineers and to encourage them for improvement and innovation.
This year is celebrated as the 160th birth anniversary of M Visvesvaraya. He was born on 15th September 1861 in the Muddenahalli village of Karnataka. He did his schooling in his hometown and then went to study BA at the University of Madras. He changed his career path after graduating and pursued civil engineering at the College of Science in Pune.
M Visvesvaraya took many difficult projects and delivered amazing infrastructural results during his career. He fixed an irrigation system, with water floodgates at the Khadakvasla reservoir near Pune to increase the food supply level.
