India appeals for reforms in multilateral institutions in G20 chairmanship meeting

Outlining India's plans and priorities, G20 group 'Sherpa' Amitabh Kant on Saturday appealed for reforms in multilateral fora. Kant was speaking at the G20 Presidency meeting held at Swaraj Dweep in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This island is known as Havelock Island. A senior official who attended the meeting said, "The G20 Sherpa told the delegates that the priority for climate finance should be inclusive and sustainable growth."
Referring to India's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kant underlined how the country has become the world's pharmacy and vaccine hub.
