Independence day 2022 India: Prime Minister Modi broke his record, the longest speech ever delivered from the Red Fort

India is completing 75 years of its independence from the British rule on the occasion of 15th August today. Due to this there is an atmosphere of celebration in the country. Today, on this special occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the countrymen by hoisting the national flag for the ninth time from the ramparts of the Red Fort located in the capital Delhi.
It is known that since taking over as the Prime Minister of the country in the year 2014, Prime Minister Modi has been continuously hoisting the flag from the Red Fort on the occasion of Independence Day. In the meantime, Prime Minister Modi had given his best wishes to the countrymen by giving a speech for 94 minutes in the year 2016. This was the longest duration of PM Modi's speech from the Red Fort and he broke his record this year by giving a speech of one hour, 24 minutes and four seconds.
In 2014, for the first time, Prime Minister Modi hoisted the national flag on the ramparts of the Red Fort. The duration of his speech during that time was 65 minutes. In the year 2015, he presented his address on the occasion of independence for 88 minutes, in 2016, 94 minutes in 2016, 56 minutes in 2017, 83 minutes in 2018, 92 minutes in 2019 but this time he broke his record of delivering speech from Red Fort by speaking continuously for about one and a half hours.

Another record is registered in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that is that he is the non-Congress Prime Minister to hoist the flag for the most number of times from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of Independence Day. Combining this year's figure, he has so far hoisted the flag on the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of independence for the ninth time. Before him, this record was recorded in the name of BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Between 1998 and 2003, he has hoisted the flag a total of six times.
