IND vs ENG 2021: All eyes on captain Virat Kohli for making the third test a historic one
If Virat Kohli hits a century and team India wins the third test, it will become a memorable day for the Indian skipper.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli has two big records to register in his name in the forthcoming third test match between India and England at the Motera Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
If he scores a century, he will become the only captain in international cricket with the highest number of centuries.
Kohli has made 41 international hundreds as captain and at present, he equals former Australian captain Ricky Ponting’s record.
He is just one century away from becoming the highest century scoring captain in the world.
He has made a total of 70 centuries to date, 27 in test crickets and 43 in one-day internationals.
His last ton came on November 22, 2019, against Bangladesh where he scored 136 runs.
Since then, Kohli has played 10 innings but hasn’t been able to score any century. Of late, he hit two half-centuries but failed to convert them in hundreds.
If India defeats England in the third test match at Ahmedabad, this will make another record that goes in Kohli’s favour.
This will make him surpass MS Dhoni’s feat, who at present, is the Indian captain with the most number of test match win.
India won 21 tests under Dhoni’s captaincy and Kohli has already equalled it by defeating England in the last test match at Chennai.
A win will go a long way in giving Kohli a unique feat among India cricketers.
England is on a tour to India to play four test matches. Both India and England have won their first matches and levelled the series as 1-1.
