Coachella 2022: In his first ever Coachella Performance, Conan Gray promulgates, Garments, after all, are Genderless
The world loves to make rules and bend us accordingly. Different people, different rules, follow one and upset the other. We get it, Rules are comfortable, and being a Rebel isn’t always the most anticipated thing, but sometimes, Rules are meant to be broken. At least Conan Gray thought so and did that successfully when for his first Coachella performance donned in a Pink Valentino Ensemble

The world loves to make rules and bend us accordingly. Different people, different rules, follow one and upset the other. We get it, Rules are comfortable, and being a Rebel isn’t always the most anticipated thing, but sometimes, Rules are meant to be broken. At least Conan Gray thought so and did that successfully when for his first Coachella performance donned in a Pink Valentino Ensemble, and paired it well with the similar hued Versace Platform Heels. Conan’s Outfit was way more than a mere outfit, it was in fact a Cultural Reset.
When I was growing up, if an International Sensation on whom women drooled over would wear something, typically masculine, he'd definitely not wear a Custom Valentino Mesh Dress, that flew along with the breeze, making the muse appear more dreamy, along with Platform Heels to complete the ensemble. The “I Wish You Were Sober” singer did that, and the entire world is glad he did. At the Coachella Music & Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, Gray promulgated that, Unconventional, is the new Convention.
Fabrics, after all, are Genderless, Garments, after all, are Genderless. An ensemble is for someone who thinks it is for them, and when a Gen-Z Superstar dons a classic Valentino, which conventionally is heralded as a women’s garment, it conveys a message for a 15-year-old boy, who hates himself for wanting to wear a skirt. Gray’s style has never been about fitting in. Gray’s upcoming album, Superache is on its way to make up grab our window seats, and pretend we’re a part of a Sad Song. Being heralded as the Gen-Z Sad Boi, Conan Gray legitimately defines the term aesthetic for the myriads, and this ensemble was as aesthetic as it is physically possible to be.
