Imran Khan’s arrest causes unrest, Army deployed in Pakistan’s Punjab

New Delhi: Following the deteriorating situation in the country after the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Pakistan Army was deployed in its side of Punjab to maintain law and order.

This came after Pakistan’s Interior ministry sought help from the Army to help bring the situation in control at places where Imran Khan’s supporters are protesting ‘violently.’ The troops will be deployed in eastern province of Punjab.

The Pakistani Rangers on Tuesday apprehended Imran Khan from outside the courtroom of Islamabad High Court on the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) warrant in the Al-Qadir Trust case, terming his arrest “legal,” reorted Geo News.

After which, protests broke out in the country against the arrest of former cricketor and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan. Khan told the accountability judge that NAB officials that he was forcefully shoved into the car and the rangers did not even showed him the warrant.
