Ilkar Ayci will be the new Air India CEO
TATA Sons has today issued a notice on February 14, appointing Ilker Ayci as the CEO and MD of Air India. The board of Air India met sometime back to approve the candidature of Ilkar Ayci. Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran was a special invitee to this board meeting.

Announcing the new appointment, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said, “Ilkar is a leader in the aviation industry who has led Turkish Airlines to its current success during his tenure. We are delighted to welcome Ilkar to the Tata Group where he will take Air India to a new era.
Ayci was born in 1971 in Istanbul. After graduating from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Bilkent, he joined the U.K. He worked as a researcher in the Department of Political Science at the University of Leeds.
In January 2011 he was appointed as the Chairman of the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of the Republic of Turkey, which is responsible for promoting Turkish investment opportunities to the global business community and providing assistance to investors during and after their entry into Turkey.
It is an official organization. In 2013, he was appointed as the Vice President of the World Association of Investment Promotion.
