The police of Forbesganj and Ideal IPR Protection Pvt. Ltd., detected a huge clone of the Relaxo footwear being sold in the local trade.

The police of Forbesganj detected a huge clone of the Relaxo footwear being sold in the local trade. The counterfeit slippers and shoes, which were cleverly disguised as those of the most popular Relaxo brand, Spark, were seized. It is estimated that counterfeit goods are of several lakhs of rupees.
Police launched the raid based on the information provided by Ideal IPR Protection Pvt. Ltd. Relaxo Footwear Pvt. Ltd. had been getting complaints of fake products being sold in the name of their brand, so the company requested Ideal IPR to check it. Their team went to Forbesganj, and one could see concrete evidence that indeed counterfeit goods were being openly traded.
The agency received the evidence after which they reported the information to the Forbesganj police. There was no time wastage as a group of officers conducted surprise raids at locations that were identified. Stores, including even residential places were hit and a massive cache of spare slippers stolen. These were imitations to the original Relaxo products in that they appeared to be identical to them yet were of low quality and legally produced with no rights.

The police party consisting of Additional Inspectors Amit Raj and Akash Kumar, constables Subodh Kumar Mandal, Dilip Kumar Chaudhary and Dinesh Kumar Mandal were major co-stars in the whole business. The raids were also silent and well-organized so as not to inform the sellers of the attack before hand.
It translates to a massive loss of money and tarnishes the image of the brand that businesses take years to establish.
Meanwhile, it indicates that such companies as Relaxo become more serious in protecting brand and ensuring that their customers are not cheated.
This action signifies that brand protection is a higher priority for companies and agencies now than before.
