IAS Pooja Singhal gets relief from Supreme Court, gets interim bail, now next hearing will be on February 6
Pooja Singhal was arrested by the ED in the MNREGA scam case in Khunti. 19 crores were recovered from the office of his CA Suman Kumar in the ED raid. At present, trial is going on in the lower court in this matter. However, a condition has been placed for bail that she has to stay in Delhi and she cannot step out of NCR. She cannot even go to Ranchi until the hearing is held there.

Suspended IAS Pooja Singhal, accused of money laundering, has got relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has granted him the facility of interim bail for one month. The next hearing in the matter has been fixed for February 6. After the High Court rejected the bail, Pooja Singhal filed a petition in the Supreme Court. A request was made on his behalf for the daughter's ill health and to be granted bail on the basis of custody. During the hearing, the court, while granting him interim bail, fixed February 6 for hearing on merits.

A bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Abhay S Oka also directed the Enforcement Directorate to respond to Singhal's main bail plea within three weeks. Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, appearing for the Anti-Money Laundering Probe Agency, said that there was no merit in the plea of IAS Singhal. On May 6, the ED raided a total of 25 locations in Jharkhand, Bengal, Bihar, Haryana and Rajasthan, including the official residence of Pooja Singhal and her husband. During this, Pooja was arrested on May 11 after several documents related to disproportionate assets including cash were recovered.
