Operation Sindoor saw 6 Pakistani aircraft attacked and destroyed by IAF

The video provided by IAF followed days after the Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh reported that the air force had jet down five Pakistani aircraft and also a large aircraft in the course of Operation Sindoor.

It was the highest kill of surface-to-air by India so far which Singh described in detail about the May 7 strikes on the terror headquarters and other terror assets located near the border and inside Pakistan.

“We have at least five fighters confirmed killed and one large aircraft, which could be either an aircraft or an AWC, which was taken at a distance of about 300 kilometres. This is actually the largest ever recorded surface-to-air kill that we can talk about,” he said during the 16th Air Chief Marshal LM Katre Memorial Lecture in Bengaluru.

The IAF received message that one AWC at least in that AWC hangar and some of the F-16 that were undergoing a maintenance in the hangar there, had also been damaged, the IAF chief said.

Among other items that the operation led to were numerous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), drones, and some of their missiles dropping on the Indian side of the border causing no damage to Indian facilities, he said.

In the slideshow, Singh presented images of the AWC hangar which was leveled upon the Indian attack.

According to the IAF chief, they struck the airfield relying on intelligence tips in the Operation Sindoor.

“So the airfield was attacked and the main building where the planning goes on, which was also used as the civil terminal building at times. As far as the Sukkur airbase is concerned, we attacked the UAB hangar and radar site,” Singh said.
