Hundreds of people gathered in support of Nupur Sharma in Ahmedabad
All these people had come out to take out a rally in support of "Hindu unity" but were stopped by the police. The protesters were not allowed to take out the rally due to which the police took some of them into custody.

A day after massive protests over suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma's "controversial" remarks on Prophet Muhammad in Gujarat's Ahmedabad, hundreds of people gathered in support of him on the Sarkhej Gandhinagar highway on Saturday. The resolution talked about taking strict action against these people and confiscation of their property. It said that the mosque where stone-pelting took place should be locked down, to save the country, saints will have to come out on the road.
The people who were detained for taking out the rally without the permission of the police were released after persuading them. The protesters argued that when there can be a sit-in demonstration in Dariyapur and Teen Darwaza without permission, why can't they. Let us tell you that after Jumma prayers in Ahmedabad on Friday evening, there was a demonstration against Nupur in Kishore Darwaza area. Markets in the entire Teen Darwaza and Lal Darwaza areas were also closed in protest. The police had cordoned off the entire area to avoid any untoward incident.
Incidents of violence took place after Friday prayers in many states of the country. After this, many people were arrested after registering FIRs in UP and Maharashtra. Meanwhile, a resolution was passed against it in the Kashi Dharma Parishad today. It said that the situation would worsen if the country was left in the hands of Islamic terrorists.
