Hookah bars are completely banned in Kolkata

Directions have been issued to ban hookah bars in Kolkata. Kolkata Municipal Corporation has said to take this step keeping in mind the health of the people. Orders have been issued for complete closure of all hookah bars from Friday itself. In this regard, an official said that the license of restaurants running hookah bars will be cancelled. Giving further information, he said that we have decided to request the closure of the hookah bar. All restaurants will remain closed on this.

At the same time, the officer alleged that some of these bars were being used for drug trade. Mayor Firhad Hakim gave this information on Friday. He said that the license of the bar would also be canceled if found selling hookah secretly. Hakim said, “There have been allegations of illegal drug use in hookah bars. The young generation is getting addicted to drugs. Therefore all hookah bars have been ordered to be closed.

The trend of hookah has developed rapidly in big cities. Especially the children of the young generation are coming in its grip. For this reason, there is a complete ban on the operation of hookah bars in Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. Its illegal employment has increased a lot, especially in cities like Delhi and Mumbai.
