Himachal elections: The fate of 412 candidates was closed in EVMs, 66 percent voting

Voting for the 68 assembly seats of Himachal Pradesh concluded today. 66 percent voters exercised their franchise in the state. With this, the fate of 412 candidates has stopped in EVMs. However, this time there has been a significant decrease in the voting percentage. The state had recorded 74.6% polling in 2017. The results will come on 8th December.
The ruling BJP, which has entered the fray with Jairam Thakur as the face of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been insisting that "continuity" is necessary for development. The party's argument is that the "double engine" i.e. the government of the same party in power at the state and the center will ensure that the work is not interrupted.

The Congress's promise to restore the old pre-2004 pension scheme has become a major election issue as the state has over 2 lakh government employees. BJP has promised Uniform Civil Code and 8 lakh jobs in the state. On the other hand, on pension, the party says that "if anyone will restore the old scheme, it will be the BJP".

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, 72.4 percent voting was done. At the same time, in the 2017 assembly elections, this figure was 74.6 percent, which is the highest since 2003.
