Hijabs have nothing to do with the Exams, says CJI denying urgent hearing
Amidst the rising rage over the Hijab Controversy, the petitioners made their way to the Supreme Court to hear the matter on an urgent basis. However, the Supreme Court on Thursday declined to give a specific date for hearing Hijab row cases.

Amidst the rising rage over the Hijab Controversy, the petitioners made their way to the Supreme Court to hear the matter on an urgent basis. However, the Supreme Court on Thursday declined to give a specific date for hearing Hijab row cases. The senior advocate “Devadatt Kamat” mentioned one of these cases on behalf of some girl students for an urgent listing. However, the CJI did not specify any date.
On Thursday, the case was scheduled to be mentioned before the Chief Justice of India for urgent listing. Advocate Kamat on Thursday said the students have their exams on March 28 and if they are not allowed inside the classroom without hijab, they will lose a year. Chief Justice NV Ramana further added, "This has nothing to do with exams. Don't sensitize."
In its recent ruling, the Karnataka High Court upheld the ban on religious clothes inside educational institutions, including Hijab. The High Court ruled that Hijab is not an essential practice in Islam. After that, the petitioners marked their way towards the Supreme Court, which for now has declined to hear the case on an urgent basis.
