Heroin and pistol recovered by BSF in Punjab's Gurdaspur sector, smugglers escaped

The Border Security Force (BSF) has got great success in the Gurdaspur sector of Punjab. BSF has recovered a pistol, 6 magazines, 242 rounds of bullets and 12 feet long plastic pipe from smugglers on Indo-Pak border. However, taking advantage of the night, the smugglers escaped. BSF jawans posted in Gurdaspur sector of Punjab noticed some suspicious movement near Shikhar BOP around 5.30 am today.
On seeing the movement of armed miscreants on Indo-Pak border, BSF jawans challenged them. From Pakistan side, miscreants started firing on BSF. In retaliation by the BSF jawans, the miscreants escaped by taking advantage of the dense fog and poor visibility. On searching the spot, BSF recovered 20 packets of heroin, one pistol each made in Turkey and China, 6 magazines, 242 rounds of bullets and 12 feet long plastic pipe.
When the jawans searched around, there was a 12 feet long pipe. Through which the consignment of heroin was being passed through. The consignment was wrapped in long cloth. When it was opened, 20 packets of heroin, 2 pistols, one made in Turkey and the other made in China, 6 magazines, 242 rupees were also recovered from it.
