Here's wishing Deepa Malik a very Happy Birthday

Deepa Malik is the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Paralympic Games. She is an Indian athelete. She started her career at the age of 30. On this day, in the year 1970 Inndian Paraathelete Deepa Malik was born. She won a silver medal in shotput at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio. She is an inspiration across all over the world and turned her darkest phase of her life into her brightest.

In 1999, Malik had to undergo surgery to remove a tumour in her spinal cord. Warned that she would be paralysed below the chest if she survived after the life-threatening surgery, Malik decided to go ahead with the procedure.
