According to the Press Trust of India, The weather department forecasted that the economic capital of the country might be a victim to substantial rainfall.

According to the Press Trust of India, The weather department forecasted that the economic capital of the country might be a victim to substantial rainfall. It stated, "Extremely heavy rains are expected at a few places in Marathwada, Mumbai, and other parts of Konkan in the next 24 hours". Additional commissioner of Thane Municipal Corporation Sandeep Malvi mentioned that due to cyclonic storm Gulab, tremendous rainfall has been forecasted in Palghar district as well. Palghar Collector Dr. Manik Gursal stated to the citizens to take proper precautions and stay indoors to ensure safety measures. Due to cyclones, Mumbai is always on the receiving side of heavy and massive rainfalls which often turn out disastrous. The authorities must ensure proper measures so that the demerits are minimal.
