Heavy Rain Alert for Telangana: Andhra Pradesh Schools Closed Amid Severe Weather

The IMD has placed four districts of Telangana under a ‘Yellow warning’ for heavy rainfall on September 4, Jayashankar Bhupalapalle, Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, Mulugu.

Heavy Rain Alert for Telangana: The IMD has placed four districts of Telangana under a ‘Yellow warning’ for heavy rainfall on September 4, Jayashankar Bhupalapalle, Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, Mulugu.

An orange alert has also been issued for the districts which are NTR and Krishna of Andhra Pradesh. The meteorological centre in Hyderabad has predicted that there would be more rains in some areas of the Telangana till September 7.

Andhra Pradesh local newspapers informed that all the schools and colleges located in NTR district will remain closed on September 4 because of the rain. Between 3 it was noticed that the IMD has reported a cyclonic circulation over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and other nearby regions. 1 km and 5. It’s at an altitude of 2, 521 meters that is 8 km above mean sea level.

The weather body added, “A fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal around September 5.”

Floods in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh killed 35 people; destroyed roads; submerged rail tracks and damaged crops on thousands of acres. People are finding it hard to meet their basic needs as the rescue and or the rehabilitation process goes on.

Most of flood affected areas in both states have started having dry season as there were no heavy rainfall in the two states on Tuesday and the state governments should do more in the affected regions. It was a disaster as many areas in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were flooded and the state’s chief ministers N Chandrababu Naidu and Revanth Reddy, respectively, toured parts of the state that was affected.

  • Union minister for culture and tourism G Kishan Reddy stated that prime minister Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah have contacted the chief minister of Telangana Revanth Reddy since the flood situation is prevailing today offering all help possible today. Reddy reported that there have been severe damages, this is according to areas such as Khammam and Mahabubabad where flood waters have had poses to enter people’s homes.
  • In the same way, YRSCP former chief minister Pawan Kalyan of Andhra Pradesh condemned the government by pointing out that it had not concerned itself with the Budameru canal stream and had not also attended to the minor irrigation projects or the aspirations for such projects which, according to him, compounded the effects of the floods.
  • South Central Railway informed that in the regions where later ROR exceeded the capacities of water barriers, the work on the restoration still continues.
  • The Indian Air Force has been implementing its rescue missions in the flooded areas of Vijayawada district of Andhra Pradesh for which the force has used six Mi-17 helicopters and two Chetak helicopters to drop off relief supplies.
  • Some people in the parts of Vijayawada are suffering from intense power rationing which has compelled people to charge their phones at railway stations. There are also reports that private boat operators are taking advantage of the affected persons through charging exorbitant fees. According to the record approximately forty four thousand forty one individuals have been reported to have been sheltered in relief camps.
  • The Navy has provided two helicopters and three helicopters have been provided by the Air Force out of which five are engaged in dropping food packets and evacuation of the people who are stranded due to floods. In the same vein, 50,000 kg of relief material have been airdropped in NTR District of Andhra Pradesh.
  • Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy declared an ex-gratia of ₹5 lakh for the next of kin of those who have died in the floods apart from affording compensation for the loss of livestock like cattle, goats, sheeps among others would be increase soon.
  • Tollywood actor and Telugu TDP MLA N Balakrishna donated ₹50 lakhs each for the two states of Andhra Pradesh and the new born state of Telangana. Mahesh Babu, an actor has also donated ₹50 lakhs each to the CM Relief Fund for both the states as a contribution to the flood affected people.
  • Meet Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, who granted ₹30 lakh from his special grants for immediate endeavours via the district branches of Indian Red Cross Society’s Telangana division.
  • Employees in Telangana have donated their one-day salary which amounts ₹ 130 crore for the flood relief operations and the cheque was presented to the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
