Heavy rain accompanied by strong thunderstorms in Delhi-NCR, alert issued for rest of the country as well
IMD has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms in various districts of Uttarakhand on Monday.
People have got some relief from the heat after light rain in the national capital Delhi on Sunday evening. On Monday also, rain has started in many parts of Delhi-NCR with strong thunderstorms. It is raining with strong winds speed reaching 30 to 50 km/h over West Delhi, North-West, South, South-West Delhi adjoining areas. After Monday afternoon, the Meteorological Department also issued a rain alert for many areas of NCR.
At the same time, the southwest monsoon has knocked over Kerala on Sunday, three days before its normal date of June 1. The Meteorological Department said that it has been raining in Kerala since Saturday and the state has received over 2.5 mm of rain so far. Monsoon has advanced into Kerala and parts of Tamil Nadu and Bay of Bengal.

The weather forecast agency said that Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts of Uttarakhand will receive heavy rains today and tomorrow.
