Health Ministry rejected the claims of media reports on Covid vaccines said there is no side effects
Citing an RTI response, a recent news report claimed that ICMR and CDSCO officials have accepted the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccines, citing an overabundance of effects arising from them.

The Union Health Ministry on Tuesday said media reports by officials of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) claiming multiple side effects of the COVID-19 vaccines are incorrect. Citing an RTI response, a recent news report claimed that ICMR and CDSCO officials have accepted the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccines, citing an overabundance of effects arising from them.
"It is clarified that the news report is misinformed and provides wrong information," the ministry said citing the report. In line with the Union Health Ministry's policy of proactive disclosure with global scientific evidence in the public domain, ICMR provides answers to questions under the RTI Act related to the advantages and disadvantages of COVID-19 vaccines.
CDSCO also stated that it does not have any other information on the subject. It may be noted that ICMR has not commented on any of the documents, the links of which have been shared as part of the RTI response. In India, NTAGI (National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization) has periodically reviewed the benefits and side effects of the Covid vaccines used in the country and has supported the above findings. Further, CDSCO, in response to RTI, stated that the list of COVID-19 vaccines approved by the National Drug Controller General is available on the website cdsco.gov.in.
