Haryana Government sets new rule for celebrating Independence Day
In view of the pandemic, the government of Haryana has extended the lockdown restriction till August 23, 2021. For Independence Day, the government has set up new restrictions.

Under the program of Mahamari Alert- Surakshit Haryana, the government of Haryana has extended the lockdown restrictions to curb the COVID cases in the state. The restriction has been extended till August 23, 2021, with the view of the ‘No mask-no service’ rule. For the upcoming 75th Independence Day, the Haryana Government has released a set of instructions regarding the celebration of Independence Day.
As per the order, while following the COVID protocols, social distancing, and appropriate COVID norms, not more than 1000 people shall be ordered to gather at the district/sub-divisional level on Independence Day. The Independence Day functions will be conducted in stadiums, police lines, and open spaces while marinating COVID norms.
As per the new order, the people are compelled to wear the mask to board public or private transportation. Similarly, the rule is also applicable for the people entering into the government and private establishments for availing of goods and services.
Meanwhile, the government has also announced a series of relaxation. The new order has also observed some relaxation in the timing of the opening of shops, bars, restaurants and so on. For now, the shops are allowed to open between 9 am to 8 pm. And the malls between 10 am to 8 pm. Restaurants and bars will operate between 10 am to 11 pm. All these places will open with 50 percent of the seating capacity. Shops and malls will function while following the COVID protocols.
The Haryana State Disaster Management has named the restriction as, Mahamari Alert- Surakshit Haryana. The educational institutions are allowed to open for students to help them with practical and doubt-clearing sessions.
