Hartalika Teej Date And Time
Hartalika Puja is on the Shukla Paksha Tritiya of the Bhadrapada month. Pratahkala Hartalika Puja is from 6:03 AM to 8:34 AM, lasting for 2 hours and 31 minutes.

Hartalika Teej Significance
Parvati made a shiva lingam out of sand and silt of Ganga and prayed on the Shukla Paksha Tritiya of the Bhadrapada month. Shiv was so impressed that he decided to marry her. Her marriage got fixed with Vishnu by her father against her will so she got herself abducted to get married to Shiva.
Celebrated on the third day of the bright half of the Indian/North Nepali Lunar month of Bhadrapada. Women stay up all night listening to prayers and fasting from the evening of Hartalika Teej and are broken the next day. The festival is mainly celebrated in Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Hartalika tritiya vrat, is celebrated similarly in Maharashtra to northern India. It is celebrated by women for the welfare, health, and long life of their husbands for a happy married life and for unmarried girls for being blessed with a good husband. Shiva, Gauri, Sakhi, and Ganesha idols are made with clay or river sand and kathan is read.

Hartalika Teej Rituals
The women start their day with a bath using a mixture of sesame and amla powder, followed by dressing in fine clothes and jewelry. After this, they take a vow to spend the day pleasing the Shiv-Gauri. The puja starts with the worship of Ganesha, the son of Shiv and Parvati, and then moves on to the Shodashopachara. Hartalika's story is narrated during the Puja, reminding the devotees of the importance of the puja.
