Hardik Pandya’s Aggressive Act in Front of Shubman Gill After No-Handshake Ignites Wild ‘Ego Clash’ Theories Online

Hardik Pandya’s Aggressive Act in Front of Shubman Gill: An eliminator match between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians was played on Friday night at the Maharaja Yadavendra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur during IPL 2025. In this match, Shubman Gill’s GT lost by 20 runs and was eliminated from the tournament, while Hardik Pandya’s MI secured a place in Qualifier 2. The high-voltage encounter between GT and MI saw some events between the two captains, during the toss and later in the match, that have become social media headlines.

Before the match, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bat first. As Hardik extended his hand to Gill for a handshake after the toss, Gill walked past without shaking his hand. This video is rapidly going viral on social media, with fans offering varied reactions. Some say that Gill has become arrogant after becoming the captain of the Indian Test team, while others say that publicly disrespecting someone is not right.

Gill was dismissed for just one off two deliveries, with the side also losing Kusal Mendis (20) right after the Powerplay. However, Sai Sudharsan (80) and Washington Sundar (48) forged a brilliant partnership to bring the Titans back in the game.

It took a brilliant yorker from Jasprit Bumrah to break the partnership, as he denied Sundar a half-century, which eventually turned the game on its head.

GT couldn't recover from the dismissal as they fell 20 runs short in the game.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma turned back the clock with a vintage 81, while Bairstow scored an explosive 47 off just 22 balls as the duo forged an 84-run partnership in just 7.2 overs. Rohit, who had been under scrutiny for his form, delivered when it mattered most, and a strong finish from Hardik Pandya (22* off 9 balls) ensured MI reached a mammoth total in the Eliminator.

Mumbai Indians defeated Gujarat Titans by 20 runs in the eliminator match of IPL 2025 in New Chandigarh and advanced to Qualifier 2.

Rohit Sharma's 81 off 50 balls powered Mumbai Indians to 228/5, the 2nd highest total in the history of IPL playoffs. Hardik Pandya's crucial 22* off just 9 balls towards the end of the innings proved to be a crucial buffer in the context of the game.

Shubman Gill got out to Trent Boult in the very first over of the chase for a solitary run. Orange cap holder Sai Sudharsan's 80 off 49 balls kept Gujarat Titans in the game for the first 13 overs of the chase. Jasprit Bumrah's (1/27 in 4 overs) and Ashwani Kumar's (1/28 in 3.3 overs) tight bowling delivered a 20-run win for the Mumbai Indians. Gujarat Titans ran the Mumbai Indians closer than the final margin would suggest.
