Happy New Year 2021: President, PM, other leaders extend new year wishes
President Ram Nath Kovind said that the New Year provides an opportunity to make a fresh beginning and resolve for individual and collective development.

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has wished its citizens a happy 2021.
“May this year bring good health, joy and prosperity,” PM Modi tweeted.
He added, “May the spirit of hope and wellness prevail.”
On this occasion, many cabinet ministers and other constitutional heads visited each others' residences and extended new year's wishes.
Rajnath Singh, Minister of Defence, called on President Kovind and exchanged new year greetings.

“Challenges arising out of COVID-19 situation strengthen our determination to move forward unitedly,” President Kovind said.
He asked all Indians to continue to work together for creating an inclusive society filled with the spirit of love and compassion that promotes peace and goodwill.
“May all of you remain safe and healthy, and march ahead with renewed energy to achieve the common goal of our nation’s progress,” President Kovind said.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has also conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to all the citizens as the country stepped into the #NewYear2021.
“Let's welcome the #NewYear with the spirit of hope as we bid goodbye to a year that has taught us many life lessons through one of the most disruptive pandemics in recent memory,” Vice President Naidu said in a message to the nation.
He added, “Let us fervently hope that we shall overcome the challenges with grit, confidence, solidarity, and resilience. Let 2021 usher in a more healthy, happy, and harmonious planet than last year.”
The Vice President also visited the Shivan temple situated in Raj Bhavan in Chennai to seek the divine blessings of Thiru Nilakanteswara Swami.
