Supreme Court orders transfer of Gyanvapi mosque case to District Judge, Varanasi. Supreme Court orders that senior and experienced judicial officers of UP Judicial services will hear the case.
The hearing on the Gyanvapi Masjid case lasted for 51 minutes in the Supreme Court on Friday. The hearing started at 3:16 pm on the bench of Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Surya Kant, and Justice PS Narasimha, and ended at 4:7 pm. The Muslim side said that do not take this case as a case. At the same time, the Hindu side argued that the report has come from the lower court, and issued instructions to see it. During the hearing, Advocate C Vaidyanathan, Advocate Ranjit Kumar appeared for the Hindu side, Advocate Huzaifa Ahmadi on behalf of the Muslim side, and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta appeared for the Centre.
Hindu side's lawyer Vaidyanathan said that the interim order has come on the petition filed in the court to stop the survey report. I think the trial court should be allowed to look into the report. On this, Justice Chandrachud said that the District Judge has 20-25 years of experience, how can we tell what he should do?
During the hearing in the court, Justice DY Chandrachud said that we will not give any such decision, which will affect the matter there. On this, Ahmadi, the lawyer for the Muslim side, said that the trial court is already affected. Chandrachud said on this that no matter how you look at it, we have given interim orders for better results on the ground.
