Guwahati Municipal Corporation election results: BJP emerges victorious with a huge majority

The counting of votes is underway in the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) elections. In the elections being held after a gap of nine years, 197 candidates are in the fray in 57 wards. State Election Commission officials said that no untoward incident was reported during the counting of votes. Electronic voting machines were used in this election.

Bharatiya Janata Party has so far won 43 wards out of 57 in Guwahati Municipal Corporation elections and is leading in 5 wards. On the other hand, BJP's ally AGP has won 5 seats.
The results of 6 out of 57 wards were declared in the Guwahati Municipal Corporation elections in which the Bharatiya Janata Party has so far won 5 awards and Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP) won 1 ward. The Aam Aadmi Party is currently leading on one seat. Let us inform you that out of 60 wards of Assam's Guwahati Municipal Corporation, polling was held on April 22 in 57 wards, the remaining three were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unopposed. Aam Aadmi Party is also trying its luck in Guwahati Municipal Corporation elections. Although the initial results are not in favor of AAP, the party is hopeful that they will get good seats this time.
