Former veteran Congress leader and Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that now Article 370 cannot be restored in Kashmir. Kashmiris stop dreaming of it. Azad was addressing a rally in Baramulla on Sunday.
He also attacked the local leaders of Kashmir. He said- Kashmiri brothers and sisters should not come in the words of these leaders. They are misleading Kashmiris about their politics. You all know that unless two-thirds of the MPs in Parliament come in support of it, it is impossible to restore Article 370 in Kashmir. I will not mislead you in the name of this and will not let it happen.
Taking a jibe at local parties, Azad said, "Political exploitation by politicians has claimed one lakh lives in Kashmir. Orphaned five lakh children. I will not seek votes on lies and exploitation. I will speak only about what can be achieved, even if it may harm me in the election.
After leaving the Congress last month, Azad has once again attacked the party. He said that Congress is going down day by day in every single election. He was not left with the power to save Article 370. Apart from this, there is no other party left in the country, which can get it restored. So avoid being misled in the name of Article 370. We should choose what we can get.
Azad also announced the launch date of his new party at the rally. He said that he will announce his new political party in the next 10 days. Azad said that he has come to Kashmir to fight exploitation and lies. Whether it harms or benefits from this, do not worry about it.
