The term of the Gujarat government is ending on 18 February 2023. The last assembly elections were held in Gujarat in the year 2017. There are a total of 182 seats in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly and 92 seats are required for a majority. Voting was last held here in two phases on 9 December and 14 December 2017. In this, BJP had captured a total of 99 seats, while Congress had won 77 seats and other parties won 6 seats.

The political arena has been decorated for the elections in the state. All the parties are trying to woo the people here. The round of accusations and counter-accusations against each other continues. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is also campaigning strongly. However, Gujarat, the home state of PM Modi, is the strongest fort of the BJP.
