Ground Zero Box Office Collection Day 2: Emraan Hashmi’s Film Sees Slight Growth, Crosses ₹3 Crore

Ground Zero Box Office Collection Day 2: Emraan Hashmi starrer movie Ground Zero could not make a mark on the release day earnings on Friday. Although the movie witnessed a slight revival in its collection on Saturday, it is still behind Akshay Kumar's latest release Kesari Chapter 2.

As of 9:42 pm, Saturday, Ground Zero is estimated to earn ₹2.69 crore India net, shows early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk.

Ground Zero Box Office collection Day 2

According to the report, the film collected ₹1 crore nett in India as per early estimates. Ground Zero had an overall 8.63% occupancy on Friday. This film marks the second-lowest collection of Emraan's films in the last few years.

His 2021 film Chehre with Amitabh Bachchan had earned only ₹50 lakh on day one of its release. Emraan's last film Tiger 3, released in 2023, had opened at ₹44.5 crore nett in India. The same year his film Selfiee, with Akshay Kumar, collected ₹2.55 nett in India.

Emraan Hashmi as Narendra gives it his all as an actor. Here, he gets a chance to laugh, cry, fight- but falls a bit short in scenes which require more aggression and passion. Sai Tamhankar as his better half plays her role well. Mukesh Tiwari gets a chance to move away from the many comic roles we have seen him in till date, and he manages it. Zoya Hussain as an intelligence official lends good support to Emraan's character. Overall, Ground Zero is a well-made film that has arrived at the right time. It thankfully steers away from chest-thumping jingoism, and that is a relief."

The first weekend is crucial for Ground Zero, with its box office trajectory now dependent on audience feedback and word of mouth. The film’s pre-release ticket sales were underwhelming, and it remains to be seen if it can pick up pace over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi recently shared a major announcement. The actor is all set to return with Awarapan 2, a sequel to his 2007 hit Awarapan. The film is slated for release on April 3, 2026. Speaking exclusively to News18 Showsha, Emraan spills the beans on the much-awaited sequel. “July end is when we’ll start the shoot." In the last one year, the action crime film saw a resurgence on social media with fans making reels, expressing their love for the film, its soundtrack and the chemistry between the lead pair. But Emraan asserts that it’s not the public demand and affection in these recent months that nudged them to announce the sequel.
