Government of India approves purchase of 15 Light Combat Helicopters
The Cabinet Committee on Security Affairs headed by the Prime Minister has taken a big decision. The committee has approved the purchase of 15 indigenously developed Light Combat Helicopters at a cost of Rs 3,887 crore. The Defense Ministry said that 10 of these helicopters will be given to the Indian Air Force and 5 aircraft to the Indian Army. 377 crore has been approved for infrastructure development for the maintenance of these helicopters.

The Department of Defense said the limited series production (LSP) light attack helicopter is a domestic state-of-the-art modern attack helicopter. Local materials were used in this 45 percent. In the Limited Series Production (LSP) version, the world's lightest attack helicopter, this proportion will rise to over 55 percent, which Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has developed through years of hard work.
