A highly contagious Omicron subvariant BF.7 has been detected in India. The BF.7 variant was first found in China and has now reached the United States, UK, Australia and Belgium. The sub-variant was the first case detected in Gujarat, which was confirmed by the Gujarat Biotechnology Research Center and described as 'omicron spawn'.
