Gold and Silver Rates Today On August 8: For the second consecutive day, gold prices today in India have again gone down compared to last day’s prices.
On August 8, the 22-carat gold prices stood at Rs 63,500 per 10 grams while the 24-carat gold rate today in India cost Rs 69,270 per 10 grams.
The 22-carat gold price has dropped by Rs 400 in the last 24 hours while the 24-carat gold price went down by Rs 440 compared to yesterday’s price.

On August 7, yesterday, the 22-carat gold price was valued at Rs 63,900 per 10 grams and the 24-carat gold rate was priced at Rs 69,710 per 10 grams.
Moreover, the gold rate today in India per gram stands at Rs 6,349 for 22-carat gold while the gold price today for 24-carat gold costs Rs 6,926 per gram.
However, the silver prices today in India has also dropped by Rs 500 compared to last day’s price and stand at Rs 82,000 per kilogram.
In the MCX, the gold contracts expiring in October 2024 dropped by Rs 64 and are trading at Rs 68,901 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, the silver futures expiring on September 2024 also went down by Rs 798 and are trading at Rs 78,825 per kilogram in the MCX.

The last massive drop in gold and silver rates was recorded after the Union Budget 2024 was introduced by Finance Minister Sitharaman which reduced the excise duty tax imposed on gold and silver to 6% from 15%.
