Gold and Silver Rates Today On August 22: The gold rate for 22-carat went up by Rs 500 in the last 24 hours while the 24-carat gold rate has increased by Rs 550 compared to last day’s price.

Gold and Silver Rates Today On August 22: After a decrease in the gold rate the previous day, the gold price has slightly increased compared to yesterday's price.
On Thursday, August 22 the 22-carat gold price today stands at Rs 67,100 per 10 grams while the 24-carat gold rate today costs Rs 73,200 per 10 grams.
The gold rate for 22-carat went up by Rs 500 in the last 24 hours while the 24-carat gold rate has increased by Rs 550 compared to last day’s price.
Yesterday the 22-carat gold rate was priced at Rs 66,600 per 10 grams while the 24-carat gold price stood at Rs 72,650 per 10 grams.
The silver rate today in India stands at Rs 87,000 per kilogram, the silver prices have remained unchanged compared to last day’s price.
In the MCX, the gold futures expiring on October 2024 went up by Rs 26 and were trading at Rs 71,856 per 10 gm while the silver futures maturing on September 2024 went up by Rs 52 and were trading at Rs 84,915 per kg.
The gold prices are highly influenced by taxes such as excise duty taxes, state taxes, and many others. A fluctuation in these tax rates will highly influence the gold and silver rates across India.

In July 2024, when the Finance Minister announced the Union Budget that reduced the excise duty taxes on gold and silver from 15% to 6%. This led to a massive drop of Rs 4000 in gold and silver rates on the next day.
