Gola Gokarnath by-election: Record victory of BJP candidate Aman Giri, defeating SP by 34,298 votes
Returning Officer Anurag Singh had told that the counting of votes is likely to be done in 32 rounds. Voting for the Gola Gokarnath Assembly by-election was held on November 3 and 57.35 per cent voters exercised their franchise. Seven candidates were in the fray in this election.

BJP candidate Aman Giri has got a record victory in Gola Gokarnath by-election. Aman Giri defeated SP candidate Vinay Tiwari by 34,298 votes. After the death of Arvind Giri, the BJP fielded his son Aman Giri to get sympathy. This by-election had to be held due to the death of Arvind Giri.
The Gola Gokarnath seat fell vacant on 6 September 2022 due to the death of BJP MLA Arvind Giri. Congress and BSP did not participate in the by-election on this seat. This was the reason that there was a direct contest between SP candidate and former MLA from Gola Vinay Tiwari and Aman Giri of BJP.
Counting of votes for the by-elections to the Gola Gokarnath assembly constituency of Uttar Pradesh began at 8 am on Sunday amid tight security arrangements. After the counting of votes started, the BJP candidate maintained a consistent lead. In the end the election results also went in his favor.
