From PM Modi to Army Chief, Mi-17V-5 is used, know the features of the most advanced helicopter

A Mi-17V-5 helicopter carrying 14 army officers crashed in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. According to initial reports, Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, along with his staff and family members were aboard the helicopter. The helicopter crashed in the Nilgiris soon after taking off from the army base at Sulur.

The Mi-17V-5 is a twin engine multipurpose helicopter manufactured by Russia. It is produced by the Russian company Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, Kazan Helicopter Plant and Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant. The Mi-17V-5 helicopter is an upgraded version of the Mi-8 helicopter.
