Four people, including three women, died in a firecracker explosion in Tamil Nadu's Namakkal
Four people who sustained burns or injuries due to the explosion or damage to their houses have been admitted to the government hospital here for treatment.

Four people, including a firecracker shop owner and three women, were killed and as many injured when a house in Tamil Nadu's Namakkal district exploded, allegedly where firecrackers were kept.
A senior police officer told news agency PTI that a house was damaged in the Mohanur area and some others in the vicinity were injured in the sudden blast at around 4 am. For about two hours, the fire tenders brought the fire under control.
He further said, 'It is not clear why the license holder Thillai Kumar (37) had stocked firecrackers in his house. The incident took place at around 4 am. Thillai Kumar, his mother Selvi (57) and wife Priya (27) died on the spot. Kumar's four-year-old daughter, however, escaped unhurt. His neighbour, a 70-year-old woman, also died due to the impact of the blast, the official said.
