Former Punjab Congress President Sunil Jakhar joins BJP
Congress has suffered a major setback in Punjab after Gujarat due to Sunil Jakhar joining BJP.

Former state president of Congress Sunil Jakhar has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party today. It is being told that BJP National President JP Nadda got Jakhar the membership of the party. According to the information, the decision of Jakhar to join the BJP was taken only yesterday. Jakhar, who said good bye to Congress, had a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Wednesday. Jakhar is in Delhi these days.
Sunil Jakhar was welcomed to the party. JP Nadda gave him a bouquet of flowers wearing a BJP flag. JP Nadda said that joining BJP is a welcome and big step for a leader like Sunil Jakhar. In Punjab, it is the largest party for the people of nationalistic thinking and Sunil Jakhar is one such leader. There is a need to strengthen the nationalist forces in Punjab. Jakhar has a different image than the party.
Sunil Jakhar said that I have joined BJP after breaking 50 years of ties with Congress. Breaking a 50-year-old relationship was not easy, but the question is what led to it. The question had tried to harm the nationalism and the brotherhood tradition of Punjab. This relationship did not break because of any person, but the question was of principles.
Sunil Jakhar also has good relations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This relationship is going on since his father Late Balram Jakhar was the Governor of Madhya Pradesh. He was given the responsibility of the Governor of Gujarat for some time. At that time Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
